WALKING HUMBLY

(Micah 6:8) What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

I am in awe of the bounty that God provides through the miraculous environment in which I live: the sun that warms me, the oxygen - filled air that renews me, and the water that cleanses and refreshes me, the rich soil that bears abundance of food that nourishes me.

I express my appreciation with a commitment to God to use only what I need and to "walk lightly', leaving as little impact on the environment as I can.

I apply this same pledge to my interaction with friends, church family, family members, and all creation. I walk lightly through each day - in a spirit of gentleness toward everyone and everything with whom I share this planet.

With childlike enthusiasm I accept and appreciate each day. No matter what my physical age may be, as a child of God. I am eternally young in spirit. As long as I continue setting goals and dreaming about endless possibilities available to me, I respond with childlike enthusiasm. I don't allow regrets about the past to diminish my sense of joyful anticipation. As I move toward these goals yet unmet, the child within me responds with hope and joy. I have a wisdom born of experience that combined with the child within me, allows me to appreciate every moment for what it is worth and to purposefully seek out the joy that each day has to offer. A child at heart, I am filled with the joy and eagerness to live each day to the fullest. "Happy are those who find wisdom...She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called happy".(Proverb 3:13,18)
